shareit

Transfering files over SHAREit can be quite challenging if you’re new to the app. Given that there is no proper tutorial on how to use it to send or receive files on your device, it can get daunting to people. But trust us, once you’re through with this article, you’ll find using the app a piece of cake.

SHAREit has been rocking the world of apps for quite some time now. There are countless positive reviews on the app on the App Store and Play Store. With above 50 million downloads from the Play Store itself, you can understand why this app is in so much demand once you get to read the features.

SHAREit Features:

SHAREit has quite the bouquet of features that makes it so popular. Here are some of them.
The wonderful design and interface is very pleasing. It gives it a friendly yet artsy feel.
The method of transfer is intuitive and not confounding like many other WiFi transfer apps.
SHAREit has a very customisable profile which lets you make a unique ID so you’re not missed by your friends on the radar when they want to transfer you files.
The stats of the previous transfer displayed on the screen give it a very sophisticated and efficient feel.

How to set up SHAREit?

Setting up SHAREit is fairly simple. Once the app is done installing on your device, simply launch it. You will be taken to a set of welcome notes and instructions on what your app is capable of doing. Once you are done glossing over them, you can set up your profile. You can choose out of a set of avatars. This is the image that will be displayed on the RADAR of people when you wish to receive files from them. You can add your name. Make sure your profile is as unique as you can make it, so that you are not missed in a number of users that may show up on your friend’s RADAR.

How to Transfer files over SHAREit?

Transferring files over SHAREit is very easy to remember once you get the hang of it. The steps vary a bit depending on whether you want to send files or receive them. Here’s what you need to do in either case.

How to SEND FILES over SHAREit?

Sending files over SHAREit is largely streamlined into a singular path. Here’s what you can do to send files to your buddies using SHAREit.

1. Open SHAREit and select “Send”.
The “Send” button is displayed right at the first screen displayed after launching the app.
2. Select the files you want to transfer.
You can choose as many files as you like, of as many types as you prefer to send. The size of the individual files and the size of the data combined have no bearing on the working of the app. So feel free to select any number of icons you like. The images and videos will be previewed as a thumbnail in the menu itself.
3. Tap “Next” and enter the RADAR-like screen.
Your friend’s avatar icon should be visible here. If not, make sure both of you are connected to the same WiFi network.
4. Select your friend’s avatar icon.
The files will begin sending and the transfer will be done before you know it.

How to RECEIVE FILES over SHAREit:

Receiving files over SHAREit is fairly simple compared to sending them. Here’s what you can do to receive them via your SHAREit app.
1. Open SHAREit app and select “Receive”.
The option will be located right below the “Send” option we used earlier. All you need to do is launch the SHAREit app.
2. Ask your friend to tap on your avatar icon on his RADAR like screen.
That’s it! You’re done. Your data will be transferred to your phone in seconds.

A Little TroubleShooting

SHAREit can sometimes show an error when your friend’s icon is not found on the RADAR. This doesn’t mean you cannot transfer files any more. All you need to do is follow the instruction below and allow your device to become a hotspot. This will let your devices connect on an exclusive network, so that your files become easy to transfer. Your friend can tap on the hotspot name displayed on the hotspot creator’s screen in his list of WiFi networks. This doubles up as a pass key, as only you and your friend will know what this hotspot is for, and not someone else on the vicinity covered by the hotspot. Voila! Your files will be transferred before you can count to 10.
