Samsung has announced the Galaxy Core Advance, yet another Galaxy smartphone, but this time, a successor to the Galaxy Core, a mid-range smartphone which was popular in the Android smartphone market for some good time this year.
There is a newer design from the previous version, and from the Galaxy Core Plus too, as there are three bottom buttons, the physical buttons for Menu, Home and Back, but the other parts are almost the same as in the other Galaxy smartphones that we see around. The screen has got a little bigger, with the 4.7-inch touchscreen coming with the WVGA display, but the internal specs are quite the same, as Samsung has retained the 1.2 GHz dual-core processor in this, with the 1GB RAM, which is similar to the Galaxy Core, but the Core Plus had a 768MB of RAM, thus the Advance looks like an overall better device than the other two.
There is a 5-megapixel rear camera given with the LED flash, and it can record HD videos, while on the front there is a VGA camera. There are some special features provided in the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance, and these are as follows:
- Optical scan where the image is scanned and the text is recognized and read out by the phone
- Light sensor to detect the brightness around with the phone’s camera
- Text to speech functionality and voice guided functions for the camera by telling the number of faces and position of them to initiate a capture
- Screen curtain – A feature that would help save the battery life by operating a few commands on blank screen
The earlier two Core devices in the Galaxy series had the optional Dual-SIM variants too, but Samsung hasn’t said anything about a dual-SIM version for the Galaxy Core Advance for now. There are many Smart features which are now a part of many TouchWiz based Samsung smartphones. The battery capacity in the Galaxy Core Advance is 2000 mAh. The connectivity options are as always pretty good – 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB.
The pricing details of the Galaxy Core Advance is not known yet, and we would be updating soon when the phone is officially launched.
