Ensure that you Canvas 4 has a battery percentage of more than 50% remaining
Enable the USB debugging in the device by going to Settings > Development > USB debugging

If at all there are no developer options available in your device, you need to go to Settings > About Phone and there you need to tap on the build number for at least 7 times until it shows that you are now a developer.

Root Micromax Canvas 4 – Instructions

  • Connect your Canavs 4 to the computer and the drivers should get installed automatically with the Windows contacting the servers for the same [If not, install the drivers by downloading them – Download Micromax Canvas 4 drivers]
  • Unzip the rooting tool you had downloaded from the above link, and open the extracted folder, where the file RunMe.bat has to be opened
  • The file would show you the various onscreen instructions to follow, and there you might see the message “Please Enter a valid number (1 to x)” where you need to enter 1 to root the device
  • The process would happen by itself and then you will see the phone rebooted for one or two times, after which the app driver will show you the SuperSu app. If this is present, then the rooting process has gone well.
