Android is surely the most used and the most loved mobile operating system out there. It is not only because Android has lots of free applications for its users, but also because it is the most customizable operating system.
This opportunity is often used by App developers to customize their applications too. And such customizations, often seems to annoy users. And one such annoyance we often notice is the app notifications on android.
When you download free apps from the Google Play Store, most of these apps start spamming your Android notification bar by giving you information about their latest offers, or by simply notifying you to use their application!
This seems annoying and disturbing to many Android users [including me] and being an Android user, I know how badly these notifications irritate us!
Well, if you also hate these Push Notifications On Android, you need not delete these apps from your device anymore. As today, we will be guiding you with some methods to Turn Off notifications on Android.
How To Disable App Notifications On Android?
The option to disable app notifications on Android devices was introduced as an inbuilt function from Android 4.1 Jellybean onwards. But if you use an older Android version, you can use a 3rd party Android app like the Air Push Detector for Android.
Air Push Detector for Android is a free app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. What the Air Push Detector does is that it checks your device for apps, which creates such annoying notifications. After checking it will provide you a list of such spammy apps, and you can act accordingly by disabling or deleting these annoying apps.
You may also come across many other apps, that serve the same purpose as of the application listed above. But I specially mentioned AirPush detector, because it is a widely used and recommended Android application.
However, if your device is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or later versions, then you can follow the steps mentioned below to disable app notifications on Android:
- From your application drawer, navigate to settings.
- From settings, scroll down and click on apps.
- From the apps menu, swipe two times to the left to reach the All Apps section.
- From the all apps section, navigate to the application whose notifications you want to disable and click on them.
- After clicking your desired application, you will be provided with the option to Force Stop or Disable the application you chose.
- Below the above two options, you’ll find a small option called “Show Notifications” with a check box near to it.
- Uncheck the box, to stop getting further notifications from that specific application.
You can follow the above method, and uncheck the “Show Notifications” option for all the applications that annoy you with their notification popups. If at a later point of time, if you want these apps to start showing notifications again, then simply follow the same steps listed above, and checkmark the “Show Notifications” box to enable your apps to start showing notifications again.
I hope this article has helped you to get rid of the annoying app notifications from your device.
